Food Labeling Lawsuits Expected To Increase In 2019

Food Related Lawsuits Expected To Continue To Increase As Consumers Become More Aware Of Misleading Products

According to a recent article in Law 360, food labeling and false advertising lawsuits are expected to continue to rise in 2019. This comes on the heels of a major lawsuit against Monsanto, makers of Roundup for a verdict awarding $289 Million Dollars.

Consumers are reading labels and paying more attention to the advertising schemes, false or misleading products, and harmful ingredients.

Our Consumer Protection attorneys have been on the forefront of this and worked with consumers to seek justice in misleading or false labeling, and falsely advertised products.

Law360 suggests that more lawsuits will target several top concerns. One of the leading complaints is the "Natural" or "All Natural" Products claims, that actually include unnatural or even harmful ingredients such as Synthetic Malic Acid, Fumeric Acid, Citric Acid, Caramel color, Xanthan Gum and more.

It will also continue to focus on the use of chemicals like Glyphosate, found in the herbicide Roundup. Currently there are lawsuits against several companies, including General Mills and PepsiCo claiming use of chemicals like Acitidimiprid found in insecticides.

Consumers have a right to rely on truthful and fair advertising to make their purchasing decisions. If you were the victim of a false or misleading advertising scheme, contact us to inquire about starting or joining a false advertising consumer lawsuit. We will evaluate your case without charge.
